Felted Soap Workshop

Time: 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Join local fiber artist Kathleen Gerdes as she teaches this fun workshop on felting soap! Felted soap is perfect for the garden lover! Natural 100% merino wool is wrapped around a bar of soap and acts as a gentle exfoliant and is also anti-microbial. This method also prolongs the life of the soap. As the soap shrinks, so does the fiber. It's quite magical! Keep a bar at the kitchen sink, so that it's handy after a long day of gardening. The felted soap makes a lovely gift too! Beginners welcome. Once we wet felt the wool onto the soap, we will needle felt a simple floral design on the top. Students should bring: an apron, several small towels, a medium size bowl to hold water, a cookie sheet (this will be used as your work surface to contain water spills).
